A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to change the name of the highway fund to the highway maintenance fund and the highway trust fund to the highway special project fund and to eliminate the six and one-half percent distribution to urban areas under the provisions of the Powell Bill.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  The Reviser of Statues shall rename the Highway Fund to the Highway Maintenance Fund in the following statutes:

G.S. 20‑7, 20‑26, 20‑58, 20‑73, 20‑79, 20‑79.2, 20‑79.7, 20‑88.1, 20‑97, 20‑137.10, 20‑183.7, 20‑194, 20‑289, 20‑324, 20‑382.2, 20‑386, 58‑85A‑1, 105‑164.44D, 105‑330.10, 105‑449.49, 105‑449.126, 105‑564, 114‑4.2, G.S. 119‑23, 136‑16, 136‑16.4, 136‑16.6, 136‑16.8, 136‑18, 136‑19, 136‑25, 136‑44.2, 136‑66.5, 136‑103.1, 136‑125.1, 143‑341, 143C‑6‑6, 147‑86.11, 147‑86.22, and 158‑42.

SECTION 2.  The Reviser of Statues shall rename the Highway Trust Fund to the Highway Special Project Fund in the following statutes:

SECTION 3.  G.S. 136‑41.1, 136‑41.2, 136‑41.2A, 136-41.3, and 136‑41.4 are repealed.

SECTION 4.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
